The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation has awarded $10,000 for Horses Spirits Healing Inc. (HSHI) to provide 100 of our estimated 280 Equine Assisted Activity and Therapy (EAAT ) sessions to non-veteran community participants, and to further the development of our “driving” program and specialized clinics.
“We are extremely grateful for the support of the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation and its recognition for the importance of HSHI’s programs to help our community participants and Veteran family members.,” said HSHI President, Paul Gatzemeier.
HSHI’s primary focus has been to help Veterans improve their lives. As the program has grown, HSHI has found that the Veteran family and other community members also can benefit from EAAT. In 2018 HSHI expects to provide just over 900 Veteran sessions and 280 community sessions. In 2019 our program is scheduled to provide approximately 900 EAAT Veteran and 300 community sessions.
